Now same-sex couples can have their relationships legally recognised as "civil partnerships".

Can I register a civil partnership?
If you want to form a civil partnership you must first give notice of your plans to the register office.
When you have done so, notices similar to marriage notices are published by the registration authority for 15 days.
A civil partnership can be made at register offices and at other approved locations (in England and Wales).
