The Croydon Vision 2020 is a regeneration programme the London Borough of Croydon for the centre of Croydon. Croydon Vision 2020 is intended to affect the urban planning of Croydon to a great extent and develop Croydon into a hub for living, retailing, culture and business for South London and South East England.
Croydon was absorbed by Greater London in 1965.
The name Croydon is Anglo-Saxon in origin and means Crocus Valley.
At the time of the Norman invasion of England in 1066 Croydon had a population of 365 people!
